He Likes Her

His lips are gin

he likes her

her hips are pages

her shoulders smile

his fingers ink

her feet are light

his arms are wings

her heart is sky

her face is still

his eyes the moon

she is tide

time is clay

    1. i so deliberated over that line……like chewing gum, or tyres… or floppy….i couldn’t decide whether she would get there swiftly leaving tracks or be stuck to the ground unmoving……. maybe un finished poem! šŸ˜‰

      1. Excellent improvements. The couple is so light, moving together like water, and the only thing that stops them is the clay of time, like mud. Or perhaps time is their clay, to mold how they will. Anyway, well done!

  1. I really enjoyed this. I love how we breeze through the lines, as if dancing in the beginning, and then her face is still. I thought that was the moment of the kiss, and then we have the tide and clay. A sort of slower movement as if they’re growing older and melting back into the earth from the breezy air.

      1. Hmmm, I use initials because I hate my first name, always have, people always sing a wretched bad Beach Boys song to me when they discover it, so silver, how good are you at bad 60’s pop music trivia…And also, men are alway priced as writers over women initially, so the ambiguity opens the door, once they’re hooked, they don’t care if your’re male or female anymore…lol

….your poetry is beautiful and perspicacious, but you are not completely gentle, although i do detect a softness toward others and life…..
i think you are loving but to intelligent to be a complete optimist…i wonder what i could call you…. let us see……i will get back to you

      1. I was searching all over your blog to find the answer to this question, too. Because I had an immediate suspicion that it must be true. Wow, such amazing verbal and visual talent. I am awestruck.

Every year for new resolutions, every decade for the world advancements and every millennium for a new generation to tuck away the antique and spring ahead able bodied of fresh ideas and out look for the next 100 years.

  3. Hello Silver Poet,
‘Time is clay’. Stuck are we.
    I have nominated your wonderful blog for a ā€˜Versatile Blogger Awardā€™ (http://versatilebloggeraward.wordpress.com/).
I felt humbled in gaining recognition from a fellow blogger, whom I respect, and as a result, have connected with a load more wonderful folk; sharing through words and images this incredible collective experience we are all having.
The ā€˜turtleā€™ started small and is maturing slowly, it is nice to hear of people reading and enjoying my reflections on the ride.
See the original turtle post here:
