Diamond Light

mesmerising

Eavesdropping I am

on conversation

seen

between leaves,

shhhhhhhhhhhh

ears widen

in pink anticipation

blinking birds take wing

through fresh clouds they arrow

sight is lost

my face whipped,

stinging,

singing

raw joy

love

in this moment

this expressive impressive morning moment

my heart splits in gentle tone

fine, musical wings expand,

to spin the length of space

mesmerising

  1. This is transcendent…I can’t say how much Ilove this piece. I may just linger here a moment and read it several times more. Thank you

  2. It is so refreshing to read a poem in this format–with all these breaks–and with such few words. It lets me really enjoy the words that are there. I’m not sure I can go back to reading my own poetry😉

    1. hehe! thats funny just take some words out! all my poetry starts with about three times as many words (the way I talk!) and by the end of editing i have taken out so many i am not even sure it makes sense anymore BUT it feels so much lighter! having said that, your poetry is YOU and wonderful, so keep being that

  3. You really did bring it all together here. Your work with the structure, very strong choice. I am curious if you experimented with any other formats? Then, there is the sound of the piece. Would love to hear you read it. I can almost hear it. This one’s a keeper.

    1. thankyou, hmmm I really just play with words until they feel right, not any conscious experimentation here….just enough space to create the feel I wanted. I love reading words aloud they sound different to what i hear in my head sometimes🙂 maybe I will look into adding a video occasionally… Thanks Tom x
