Hot Bath

Winter’s eye

at frosted window chills,

taps, whistles and whines…..

but I

slip into hot skin,

feet first…

The prickle pleasure, tongue curling heat, enters me

toes call and stretch,

pink ears and nipples

squeal

sigh

fly!

This new world heaven

of wet fever

is deepest joy

my heart

my soul

my song,

moon slidesĀ these scarlet edges,

a venetian dream,

my flesh is dancing.

  1. Ahhhhhhh, an outdoor hot tub in the dead black of a snowy winter…that was the image conjured…now toasty warm…oh, wait, it’s summer here. Hope you’re toasty warm, and not covered in a silvery frost:)

    1. hehe, warm IN the bath, chilly toes out of bath…. actually australia is amazing for lying naked under hot sun in winter…something that isn’t o pleasurable in the middle of summer (for me anyway)

      1. lol..well here, beer, hot tub, snow falling, under a blanket of stars…last time I did that was on a ski weekend to the mountains in February with all the kids and my gal pals…super awesome! And I’m thinking naked summer laying equals burnt butt! Ouch! haha

  2. What really stands out for me here is that you capture -brilliantly- the motion and sensations of sliding into a hot bath. This is great poetry! Not only that, but the verses at the beginning undulate like water.

  3. *fans self* I think I have been doing baths wrong. Or maybe I have been having too many showers. This makes me long for winter. And those moon sliding scarlet edges.

    1. winter will come again and you will know the truth…you will slide in like a cool skinned mermaid and be vaporised in pleasure!

(i spend most baths being swam all over by my little fish…which is quite a different experience šŸ™‚ )

      1. I sure hope so!

And, fishies? Are these exfoliating, nibbly fishies? Or pets? Either way:

        Fish in the bathtub,
        slipping silver scales on skin.
        Rubba-dub-glub-glub.
