7 Things About Me

1. My first puppy was called Mustard Pickles Baartz

2. I attended 11 different schools as a child

3. I have two brothers and two sisters, one of my sisters, Amelia, died at birth but we often see her looking after the new babies that come into the family

4. A priest once told me that dogs didn’t go to heaven so now I don’t trust organised religion.

5. I don’t use pegs to hang out the washing

6. I am about 46 and will keep dying my hair until I am fifty, then I will re consider allowing it to gracefully turn silver like poetry

7. I deeply love and believe we are not a multitude at all, but one massive beast of pure conscious awareness

  3. My first dog was named Pouchy. He was a white mutt and was dognapped but found his way home. May we all find our way home no matter what the trials in life bring. I think that’s why I write my books. The new one, The Brooch, is really about finding oneself and learn about the power of love to bring us to awareness of who we are and why we are, hopefully in an entertaining manner.

    1. oh you are SWEET and I am very honoured to have your appreciation! I have made one e-book collection and am actually in the process of building a poetry cv… thats attending and participating in readings, having pieces published here and there etc… so eventually it is a definite dream!!! I am about to put a link in the side bar that will lead people to a place where they can download the ebook for free…but if your anything like me paper pages are MUCH more satisfying (sorry tree’s) xx

  6. I particularly like #4 and #7 … the religion thing goes without saying … the idea that the human population comprises a single, collective, consciousness is a very cool idea. Resonates with what the Gaia hypothesis has to say about the biosphere as a single, living, organism. Cool stuff. BTW – thanks for your decision to follow Pairodox Farm – I hope I don’t disappoint. 7. Hey Silver Poet. It must be no surprise to know that I am informing you about the Versatile Blogger Award that I have nominated to you. After what you have written you deserve several of these golden beauties alone, but I am certain others have provided, so please, just add this to your collection…follow this link if you wish to acquire the little gem…: http://wp.me/p24LWs-6l

  8. re item 4 — I always refer to the Robert Louis Stevenson quote:

“You think dogs will not be in heaven? I tell you, they will be there long before any of us”

lovely blog — and if the art is yours — sublime blog!

  10. I once asked a priest if dogs go to heaven and he pondered for a bit and then he said “God loves us and he gave us animals because he loves us, therefore, yes dogs go to heaven and they have a special place in heaven.” I liked his answer!

    You are absolutely gorgeous.

  12. You really inspire me, and I don’t even know your name. I enjoy your beautiful words, your art (I’m assuming the work is yours), your spirit and consistency; your seemingly vivid awareness in life. I’ve been taking an english course that focuses on the concept of conscious living, and I must say, after what I’ve learned, your seventh “thing” hit the nail right on the head! I’ve really grown to admire you; please keep inspiring me!

  13. Hello Silver Poet,

I have felt your touch previously so I wonder if this message (cut and pasted below) is for you. I feel like I reached the end of my caregiver advocacy days.

The goal here is to get the maximum number of Comments so these will EQUAL OR EXCEED the number of visitors. If you are willing to participate then please follow this link (http://mlbergcarefreehighway.wordpress.com/2013/01/18/one-to-one-best-ever-views-to-comments-ratio/), open the post, and cast your comment upon the page (sort-of like graffitti).

    Good luck to us all.

  16. Please accept my dearest compliment on your blog and your endeavors. You were or are following a blog called opt4 whose goal was to prevent domestic violence and promote nonviolence. My name is Chad Herman, Visionary/Motivational speaker and I was writing that blog for over 3 years. Everything you saw on that blog was my creation…and I hope you liked it. Unfortunately, because of federal budget cuts, I no longer am able to keep up that blog. I hope that others will in my absence, but I don’t know. With that said: I have my own blog, motivatingforpositivechange.wordpress.com dedicated to the idea that “if we all did something to help a cause we truly believe in, we could change the world.” I still write about gender equality and nonviolence, in addition to multiple otrher causes and ways to continue creating positive change. Please check out motivatingforpositivecghange.wordpress,com. I promise you won’t be dissapointed!

  17. Oh, my, in your long list of award nominations, I didn’t see cupcakes, although it is possible I overlooked them. At any rate, in response to Brooke’s Sister’s nominating me for a Super Sweet Blogger award, I’m extending a nomination to you as well. You’re free to decline, of course. Or should you accept, there are five requirements. Either way, thanks for all the fine posts you’ve been sharing. Tootles!
    1. Thank the Super Sweet Blogger who nominated you.
    2. Answer 5 Super Sweet questions. (See below.)
    3. Include the Super Sweet Blogging Award in your blog post. (It’s the cupcake illustration.)
    4. Nominate a baker’s dozen (13) other deserving bloggers.
    5. Notify your Super Sweet nominees on their blog.
    FIVE SUPER SWEET QUESTIONS
    1. Cookies or Cake? Both?
    2. Chocolate or Vanilla?
    3. Favorite Sweet Treat?
    4. When Do You Crave Sweet Things the Most?
    5. Sweet Nickname?
    Here’s hoping you accept.

  18. I do not trust organized religion, either. if dogs do not go to heaven, then why do they share the same name? god-dog? i mean, why would god not want to be associated with a creature who shares his/her name? 🙂
