A strange title for a page, I know, but my mother and father are great. They really are. I am just a fat little baby looking up and I see godlike beings, it makes me want to clap and cheer.
Note- I think realising I was making my parents imago’s for a warped (catholic school) idea of ‘God’ was the first big breakthrough in my life. Now I see everyone this way!
I have spent years actively disengaging my value system from the one they inadvertently, lovingly, tangled me in and now I am mesmerised by the intricate humanity, the blend of archetypal intrigue and spiritual expression that stands protectively, helplessly, before me.
My parents are talented creators and although they don’t see the need to pursue public acknowledgement I believe they deserve recognition regardless of their measly wishes 😉
Mum and Dad, Mary Anne and Michael Baartz, live a sweet and vibrant life in a homemade pole house in the rainforest, they are like big chimps, grooming each other and creating a soft place for their children and grandchildren.
Mums favourite saying is ‘ Everything is as it should be, nothing is as it seems’
Dad’s ‘ there is no such thing as ‘art’ only mark making’
I will be sharing Dad’s art and Mum’s short stories periodically for the pleasure of my followers, I do hope you like as much as I do.
